Help Ukraine - Update

Dear fellow Ukrainians and friends,

We want to start out by saying that this email is long overdue. We, Ukrainians of Colorado, would like to tell you about what we have been working on and give some insight on our mission since the war started. We also want to share the things we have accomplished, honor those that have helped us, as well as the further steps we will take to achieve our common goal of helping Ukraine.

On February 24th, 2022 all of our lives changed forever. In the midst of the total dismay and disbelief, we, as a team, had to make plans and act on decisions quickly.

To begin, we identified our mission. We knew that we immediately had to act on helping those in need. During these hard times our beautiful Ukraine and all those that come with it are in need of help and support more than ever. The war that was unjustly brought to our land, led through Russian aggression, is devastating and unforgiving. Tens of thousands of civilians are displaced, terrified, and left with nothing. Through the united help of our community, we have been able to make a difference for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine that have been stricken by war. With your help, we have been able to raise funds for medical supplies and transport them to Ukraine with the help of Project C.U.R.E. We ask you to please continue joining us in raising funds for medical supplies and helping cover the transportation costs of these supplies. These medical supplies have been sent to countries bordering Ukraine (Poland, Romania), which are then delivered to hospitals and medical centers in Ukraine. The support you have given with this is immense, and we ask you to kindly continue supporting us. We have been accomplishing our mission every day. Maybe one can’t see at first the work we have been doing, but know we are making a difference. We all feel the compelling feeling to help and this is something we can all contribute to.

After our first Press Release on March 3, 2022 with the announcement of our fundraising, (thanks to Tetiana May and Andy Lenec) we started receiving a very high volume of calls, texts, and emails we have never experienced before. Just in the first week of the war starting, our website was completed and updated (thanks to Irina Korolenko). Every one wanted to help, and still want to help Ukraine. We want to ask you to please keep in mind that all volunteers are not paid employees, who still have families, and regular jobs. This work is all done in our free time and from the love in our hearts. Please join us on this mission and give us grace. We will share volunteering info towards the end of our email.

We want to take the time to thank Project C.U.R.E. They have helped us immensely in this process of getting medical supplies to Ukraine. We want to take a moment to mention a great donor.
Project C.U.R.E. has received donations in the name of Ukrainians of Colorado in the amount of $100,000 from a doctor (who would like to remain anonymous). This generosity is big and we are grateful. We are asking you to please mail any cards or letters to our anonymous major donor, addressed “Dear Doctor John” and send them to:

We would like to use these funds in hear future to help rebuild hospitals in Ukraine

It is on the way to Project C.U.R.E. for further shipment to Ukraine. Additionally, we were able to purchase 200 vests in Poland to be shipped to Ukraine for metal inserts to be installed. We paid $22,000 thanks to your generosity!

Project C.U.R.E. has also received additional $200,000 in the name of Ukrainians of Colorado, which they being used to purchase: quick clot bandages, combat tourniquets, and IFAK trauma kits. We would not be able to do this without you!! Please know your donations are going towards a good cause.

In addition, we are planning to continue outreach to our local governments, as well as State and Federal level, to pressure them with needs of refugees, visas to enter USA. We will continue our public relations with main stream media to send our mission message, and bring awareness to ongoing russian war against Ukraine and genocide happening in Ukraine.
