Ukrainians of Colorado meet with Senator Michael Bennett

Ukrainians of Colorado were able to meet with Senator Michael Bennett of Colorado to discuss aid to Ukraine, and in general speak of needs and connections to Ukraine.

Some high points of this meeting included:

  • The Senator sharing his story about his mother who was born in, and lived in, occupied Warsaw, Poland. This motivated him to provide effort to see the US Government fund Ukraine with 60M USD in defense support.

  • The Senator speaking with refugees and a prisoner of war, who was in attendance.

  • The Senator speaking via a secure phone call with front-line Ukrainian GIs in Zaporizhia

  • The Senator receiving a gift - a bust of an acclaimed Ukrainian philosopher
