Direct help to the people in need in Ukraine
Throughout the year, we have provided direct help to the people in need in Ukraine through Hearts of Humanity.
We raise money to meet each family's individual needs and struggles. In most cases, we help with buying food, medications, and hygienic supplies; sometimes, we provide help with children's supplies - newborn goods, new stroller, special food for disabled children. Other requests we have helped with are purchasing an electric generator, and helped to relocate it to a safer place.
In total, we answered 50+ requests and helped directly more than 100 people (including children) in distress. Here are some of the cases we stepped in:
- A mother of three asked for help to take care of her family. “We have to flee and settle in a new place because I worried about my kids and wanted to protect them. I have found a new job already. But I will get the first salary only in a month. Meanwhile, I have to pay rent and support three kids, the youngest one is with autism and rehabilitation needs.”
- A woman who lives alone, disabled since childhood (lost her leg), then got cancer, recently broke her arm, asked for your help to raise money for food and medicine.
- A family of five, including two little children and one disabled person, asks for help to buy winter clothes and medications for the handicapped one.
We provided them with $450
They were able to buy winter clothes for the whole family and needed medications.
- Anastasia and her two young daughters need funds to repair the dilapidated house they have to stay. The house where the family lives is in a terrible state. However, this is the only housing that Anastasia and her daughters can now find for themselves. Anastasia is trying to put everything in order for the winter - fix the stove, and fix the walls and floors on the kithen, but being left without work, she does not have enough money.
Thank you all for your donations. They really do make a difference!
