Gifts from St. Mykolai for kids of Dnipropetrovs’k and Kherson
Each child deserves to celebrate the holidays. This year, we made sure that children of Dnipropetrovs’k and Kherson were able to receive gifts from St. Mykolai all thanks to YOU! Specifically, children that have lost a parent due to this war against Ukraine.
A message from Ukraine:
“Dear Ukrainians of Colorado,
Before the New Year holidays, we did not forget about the children of Ukraine. Thanks to your support, 80 sweet gifts were purchased.
On December 18, 2022, on the occasion of St. Nicholas Day, a meeting was held with the families of soldiers who have gone missing or are in captivity in the Central Diocesan Church of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy" of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The event was organized by Alla Mykolaivna Makukh, Coordinator of the representative office of the Commissioner for Persons Disappeared Under Special Circumstances in the Dnipropetrovsk Region. The meeting was accompanied by prayers for the speedy return of boys and girls from captivity. During the meeting, 10 children, one of whose parents is in captivity or missing, were congratulated on St. Nicholas Day and given sweet gifts.
A total of 50 children in Dnipropetrovsk region are officially missing one of their parents, so those who could not attend the event on 18.12.2022 were supported with sweets by sending them gifts by Nova Poshta at the expense of the NGO partner "All-Ukrainian Public Movement of Mothers and Relatives of the Participants of the ATO "BEREGYNYA" A total of 40 gifts were sent to postal means, which is reflected in the waybills.
On the same day, on the occasion of St. Nicholas Day, 18.12.2022, a social event was held in the Dnipro Regional Library (23 Voskresenska St.) for the families of fallen Heroes, active servicemen and internally displaced persons. During the event, sweet gifts were given to 11 children, and a master class for children and art therapy for adults were held at the expense of the partner NGO "Family of Heroes "Pride of Dnipro". Another 2 children who could not attend the event were given gifts during a personal meeting.
Another 17 sweet gifts will be given to children of combatants from among internally displaced persons who live in the children's health center "Pearl of Prydniprovya" DOR (Novomoskovsk), whose families were covered by humanitarian aid in October 2022 at the expense of your financial support
After the gift distribution is complete, the recipient lists will be scanned and forwarded to you.
I also want to emphasize that we do not forget about the children in the newly liberated territories of the Kherson region. Unfortunately, they still suffer from the attacks of the aggressor.
During the trips in December 2022, clothes, baby food, sweets, diapers and hygiene products were delivered to them. And of course, before Christmas, 100 small but very sweet gifts were given.
Which were later distributed by trusted people in the village of Stepanivka (part of the city of Kherson) and in the Shumen district of the city of Kherson.
We constantly express our deep gratitude for your great help!
God bless you and America
Glory to Ukraine !
P.S. Children from events in the city of Dnipro with yellow gifts, and from the Kherson region with red ones”
