Holodomor Remembrance Day

  • Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church 4118 Shoshone Street Denver, CO, 80211 United States (map)

Fourth Saturday of November is Holodomor Remembrance Day in Ukraine. On that day Ukrainians throughout the world pause to honor the millions of innocent victims of Holodomor, man-made famine, orchestrated by the Soviet Union under the leadership of Joseph Stalin in 1932-1933.

For decades the Soviet regime suppressed any information about the Holodomor. But after the fall of the Soviet Union, the world learned about the genocidal atrocities committed against the Ukrainian people, and today nearly 50 countries recognize it.

We must never forget these innocent victims. Please join the Ukrainian-American community of Colorado as we honor their memory.
